Introduction

Welcome to Save the Queen, my rather uncreatively titled text-heavy (and media-less) tribute for Final Fantasy VIII's heroine Quistis Trepe. Despite constant negative critique, Quistis remains my second favorite video game character (second only to -- guess who -- the Sorceress' Knight himself) and my favorite female video game character; why, you ask? Although incredibly overshadowed by Squall and Rinoa, sometimes forgotten during the game, and remarkably flawed even with her glorified reputation, she retains her importance as the brains and common sense of the group and reminds us that people who seem perfect may not be all they seem. Quistis is emotionally appealing because she experiences things that normal human beings do, because she gets rejected like normal human beings do, and because she is just another teenager trying to blossom into a young adult and has just about every same obstacle and difficulty to overcome. If you have come here thinking otherwise, I hope to have at least enlighten you on my views and have you come to see Quistis in a different light; she is not at all as weak or helpless many make her out to be.

As part of a much needed all-around domain revamp, this is monochromatic and somewhat dark fifth layout to be featured here. Resource credits go to Dearest and Discolore!
