I was debating between giving this product 3 and 4 stars, but I eventually went with 4. Quality-wise, this is very solid doorstop; however, some engineering mistakes are made in the design of the back/base plates: these plates do not have any room for fine-tuning, so you cannot fine-align their positions. Once screwed in, you can never make any adjustments. The problem is that the sweet-spots on these magnets are extremely narrow, and a quarter of an inch in either direction will cost you losing 10 times of the magnetic strength. If they did make the screw-holes on these plates a little wider, you could at least move the plates a little.

There is no installation manual in the box, but installation is straightforward. Unscrew the back plates from both pieces (you probably need a coin or flat-blade screwdriver for unscrewing the back plate of the small piece), and use the provided screws in the package to attach them onto your door and wall. I have provided a few pictures on how my installation looks like, and I never used the long screw that came in the package.

The whole thing took me about 2-3 hours for two doors, only because fine-tuning was almost impossible. I ended up moving the plates a few times, which resulted in some unused screw holes on my door and wall; fortunately, I found the best possible combination to give me full magnetic strength. As you can see in the pictures I installed one door with an angle, and it wasn’t giving me the best strength. One quick tip: if after tightening everything, the magnets are not connecting strongly, just loosen the wall piece a little bit (not the back plate and just a tiny bit). It really does wonders! You can also try loosening the small door piece a little too.

Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase. I saw this Stanley Hardware version in a shopping mall, but I chose KES over it because it is a solid piece. If KES made the back plates adjustable, it would have been the perfect product.

Very happy with this product, easy to install. I did the following: Mark position for each piece using a pencil. Then double check the positioning. As usual, the time spent on early steps pays off. If one is not careful in positioning the two pieces they will not “marry-up” correctly and you will need to reposition/remount and that is not a good thing.
Both pieces require that you first remove the mounting plate in order to begin installation. On the smaller “dome-shaped” piece you can use needle-nosed pliers or even a pair of larger tweezers (or possibly your fingers are strong enough) to grip the open holes and twist counter-clockwise to unscrew the mounting plate. Not hard, just requires a little effort to figure out how to get the plate out. On the larger piece one simply removes the center screw. Take care to attach the mounting plates correctly, not upside down. And on the larger piece be sure to leave the center screw in place prior to attaching the plate to the desired surface. I placed the smaller piece on the door, the larger I mounted to the floor, see pictures. I drilled small pilot holes, then attached the mounting plates using the supplied screws. Then it is very easy to rotate (twist) each piece onto its mounting plate. When installed the two pieces “marry” together perfectly, the door is held securely but also detaches with a gentle tug. I really like how it looks and works. Professional appearance, doesn’t look at all like some DIY results! NOTE: I did not use the supplied white plastic screw anchors because I was mounting into a solid wood door and resilient flooring over wood subfloor and did not need to use the plastic anchors; those would be helpful if installing into drywall or a hollow door. There is another longer piece supplied – I don’t know how it would be used, I didn’t need it, so I guess I will add it to that bin of mystery parts I’ve collected over time, LOL.

This thing looks really nice installed. No screw heads showing. Has a nice brushed metal appearance. Sophisticated shape. A real good value. The magnet seems to have just the right amount of hold. Enough to keep the door firmly in place, not so much that it feels like you are fighting it to close the door. Never feels like you are warping the door to pull it free (though if it were one of those lightweight hollow doors, that might be a concern).

Installing, its challenging to get the two parts to line up properly. You think you have it nailed, only when you tighten things up, the perfect alignment goes out of whack. Take your time, think it through. the more out of parallel the door and wall are at the point you are mounting this, the more difficult this alignment process is (if your door only opens 90 degrees, so door and wall are perfectly parallel to each other when this thing is in place, it will be very easy to get it right. But even a few degrees off parallel and the challenge is there).

Don’t get me wrong, its not a huge deal, and product will still work even if alignment isn’t perfect. I’m just very particular about this sort of thing, and want it to fit like a glove. Doing that is a challenge, but can be done if you are handy and take your time.

Suction level on this shop vac is absolutley AWFUL! I bought this with the intention of using it to vaccum the car, stairs & couch. It failed miaerably at all tasks. Complete waste of money. Returned product.

Nice vacuum, had to change the hose to a 2 1/2 inch hose, the little one that comes with it clogs way to often for my liking.

Love it, much easier to carry around my work

I like this vacumn use it for my house. I like the hose so I can do the floors and ceilings and that it is on wheels. There is no “don’t like”.

Use this to pick up loose cat hair and litter in the garage. Very strong suction, and also works as a powerful blower too.

I don’t like the paper filter and the attachment holder doesn’t stay in place plus the cord is to short. If I didn’t need it right now I’d send it back.

shop vac is ok. just doesn’t have a lot of suction. probably would’nt buy it again.

Absolutely terrible product… I bought this shop-vac to help clean up my garage and within five minutes of vacuuming up a little bit of dust the motor burned out and started to smell like burnt rubber. Now, all it does is make a tiny little fan sound, with no suction. Would never recommend this product.

This product is perfect for my needs! I used this to cover my glass stove top for passover. Not the burners of course. But they made it so I didn’t;t have to use foil paper and ruin the glass. so glad i found this.
