Home Depot – Poor Quality – Bathroom Renovation, Review 973361

Home Depot / Poor Quality – Bathroom Renovation

Posted: by

Complaint Rating:

Home Depot did a tremendous job on my kitchen renovation project in 2012 so much so that when my renovation needs for my hall bathroom arose, I did not hesitate to reach out to Home Depot once again.

For my bathroom project, Home Depot contacted out to a company called Romanoff who did the design and completed the job on 2/23/2018 much to my dissatisfaction. The main driving force behind my bathroom re- model project was the desire to replace an old bathtub that had lost it’s finish and was hard to keep clean. So this fact was pivotal and communicated to Romanoff. Romanoff estimated the cost of the job at approximately $9, 500 and that the amount charged to my account.

The job was delayed two days because the bathtub that was ordered kept coming in chipped. Finally the contractors went out to purchase a bathtub and what was purchased and installed was a low quality, low -end, low cost bathtub by a company /brand called Bootz Maui bathtub with terrible reviews and frequent documented problems such as chipping. Read the reviews for yourselves! I am displeased. On a $9, 500 job, I would not expect Romanoff to install a cheap bathtub enabling them to keep their profit margins high. I did not get what I wanted out of this job. I inherited a large bill ($9, 500) and as far as I am concerned I still have a problem with my bathtub which is low quality and prone to chipping.

Customers contract the services of Home Depot and their sub-contractors because they are seen as subject matter experts helping and guiding to reach high customer satisfaction levels. Romanoff tricked me into a low end bathtub because they knew that I lacked the expertise to know any better. I erroneously thought that they had my best interests at heart and not their own profit margins.

I was hoping to receive the same quality Home Depot re-modeling services that I received with my kitchen project but sadly I did not. Please consider having the vendor replace my bathtub for a higher quality one, re-doing the wall tile as a result or discounting the cost of the re-model project.

Regards,
Judith Haughton

7 High-Tech Investments To Include In Your Next Home Improvement

Are you planning to remodel your home? Do you want to make it more functional, comfortable, and add some more value to it? With these high-tech improvements, you can achieve all of those goals.

These are investments that will significantly upgrade your home, your level of security and change your way of life, while decreasing your impact on the environment, saving energy and money at the same time.

One of the best and useful high-tech investments when it comes to home improvements are solar panels. Their benefits are wide and numerous, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they are becoming an increasingly common investment with many homeowners. Apart from their environmentally-friendly and sustainable characteristics, they also bring high energy-efficiency and significant savings to your household.

Solar panels work on the basis of sunlight absorption and its conversion into electricity, and with them, you can cover the majority of your home’s electricity demands. With the development of the industry and the market, panels are becoming more and more efficient and able to absorb sunlight.

Solar storage batteries are also an important part of your solar system, complementing it to make your investment even more profitable and your home more energy-independent and efficient. They function as a safety net for cloudy weather and during the night. They will absorb and store the sun’s energy so that it can be used when there is no direct sunlight for the panels to absorb.

Digital lighting brings about comfort, convenience, but also efficiency and savings. With this home investment you can digitally and remotely manage the lights around your house. You don’t have to get up to flick the light switch, or even go upstairs to turn off the light you accidentally left on. This way, apart from making your life more comfortable, digital lights also make it easier to save energy and money.

he basis of this high-tech addition are LED bulbs. They can be any color you want, livening up your house, but more importantly, they are energy efficient. As opposed to the regular incandescent light bulbs, they convert much more electricity into light, which means they waste very little to no energy. They will last up to 25 times longer and therefore save you money on utility bills along the way.

Smart glass or switchable glass is a highly innovative, modern and multifunctional technological development. If you are renovating your house, and especially if you are changing or upgrading your windows, this is something you should seriously consider. It eliminates your need for curtains, blinds or shutters of any kind while maintaining your privacy.

Smart glass is an automated and programmable glass that prevents anyone from seeing inside, while still allowing the sun’s rays to shine in and keep you warm. The glass can be clear, translucent or completely dark and blocking the sun. This way it can keep your indoors cool during hot days. Additionally, and maybe most importantly, the glass has automatic sensors which can regulate the amount of light that comes in.

A smart thermostat is an indispensable high-tech investment and should be incorporated in any home. It is a simple and affordable addition, yet a very significant one. It regulates and manages the heating and cooling in your household better and more efficiently.

It can be programmed for the best performance and optimal temperature, as well as controlled remotely through smartphones, for example. When there is no one home, they will lower the temperature or turn off, turning back on when you enter the house. And here is another benefit of these smart devices. They can be connected to other smart gadgets around the house, such as smart locks, so that they turn on when the door unlocks.

With this intelligent addition, your house doors will automatically lock behind you, so you don’t have to worry whether you forgot to lock them. Smart locks can also be operated remotely, so you can lock or unlock the door in case you want to let someone in when you’re not home. These locks record all activity, and for added security, it will alert you whenever someone unlocks it.

Having a security surveillance camera is the best way to record any activity in or around your house. Whether it is to keep intruders away from your home, or to monitor the activity within your house, you cannot go wrong with this investment.

Cameras, too, have developed and become smart, so now you can receive instant alerts to your phone of any suspicious activity, as well as monitor your household remotely, whether to keep an eye on your children, or to make sure everything is in order while you’re away.

This innovative addition to your home is also known as a central vacuum system, and it will upgrade the level of convenience as well as functionality in your household.

Vacuuming is hardly anyone’s favorite chore, especially if you live in a big house with many rooms. It takes up a lot of your time, you have to plug it and unplug it constantly, while getting tangled up in cords and hunching too long over the vacuum. This innovative solution solves all of those problems.

Vacuum baseboards, also known as vacuum units or sweep inlets, can be installed anywhere around your house, wherever you deem it convenient. They are then connected to the central vacuum system, which can also be installed in any place that is most suitable for you, such as the garage or under the stairs. When it’s time for cleaning, simply turn on the main switch and the central system will suck the dust and dirt through the inlets.

Whether you are planning a remodel or are in the process of it, including some or all of these smart, high-tech investments would be a simple but a significant improvement. Many of them will go a long way towards making your house energy-efficient, some will increase your security, and some will help you with your everyday routines, making both you and your house more functional.

These investments are affordable, and will additionally save you money. Give them a try and you will see immediate change and long-term benefits.

How To Protect Your Investment: 7 Home Improvement Ideas To Consider

Home improvements do more than simply improve the functionality of your home. While renovating might give you more space or make your home a much more comfortable, it can also be considered an investment in your home. If you ever feel the need to sell your home, some changes, like taking care of all roofing or drainage problems, will make your home far easier to sell closer to your asking price.

Here are 7 ideas for home improvement that you might want to consider:

1.Home Security:

One obvious way of improving home security is to install alarms and other home safety equipment in and around your home. While you can do this on your own, it might be more beneficial to rent a monitored home security system for a small monthly fee. Not only will you not have to worry about if you have done all the installations correctly, but you will get all the latest home security tech and support that you could possibly need.

However, one overlooked aspect of security is the use of fences. These are likely to be a deterrent to burglars and they will help secure your home from animals wandering into your yard, which could be a problem if you live in a rural area, and from strangers casually “casing the joint” from the sidewalk if you live in an urban area.

Consider the advantages of installing a precast fence when deciding on fencing. Unlike traditional fences, which are usually made of concrete blocks, brick, wood, wrought iron, or vinyl, they require little maintenance because they aren’t susceptible to deterioration over time due to insects, temperature fluctuations, weather changes, or other environmental factors. Besides their durability and low maintenance, they are also easy to customize to make your home look more secure and attractive.

2. Roofing:

If you have roofing problems, they will only get worse over time. Besides the numerous inconveniences they cause your household, they are one of the first things prospective buyers ask about when reaching for a bargaining tactic or finding an excuse to eliminate your house from their list of promising homes to research. Some common roofing problems include leaks, moisture, pond water, blow-offs, and billowing, as well as damaged or missing shingles. Besides tackling the issue of roof repairs, you may also want to consider the many advantages of installing solar panels.

3. Doors and Windows:

Although doors that don’t close and windows that won’t close can be expensive to replace, buyers expect them to be in excellent condition. While replacing them will not cause an increase in the resale value of your home, not taking care of these irrigating glitches will definitely make it harder to sell the house.

4. Kitchens:

Improving your kitchen is a must, especially if you have an older home and you have learned how to get by with older appliances and an outdated look. People looking to buy a new home are keen on buying one with all the modern conveniences. In fact, many real estate ads mention updated and upgraded kitchens as a selling feature.

5. Bathrooms.

Coming in a close second to kitchen improvement is bathroom remodeling. If you have an older style of sinks, tubs, or tiles, you may want to think about ways to modernize your bathroom. This investment will usually give you a good return.

6.Outside Maintenance.

Do you need to improve the siding? What about landscaping? Improving the curb appeal of your home is yet another good return on investment. Walking through a beautiful, well-kept yard to get to your front door will make a huge, positive impression on buyers.

7. Drainage:

Another damper when it comes to selling your home at a good price is drainage issues. This is something that often concerns prospective buyers. You know you have drainage problems if you have gushing gutters, dumping downspouts, and a water-stained basement. Other signs to look out for when it comes to water-related problems are cracks in your home’s foundation cracks and mildew accumulating in the attic.

While there are many things that you can do on your own to save money, it’s important that you leave some of the more expensive projects to seasoned experts. For instance, you might be able to tile your own bathrooms, but it’s always a good idea to hire a professional installer for your windows. Making beginner errors on expensive projects will only end up costing you more money.

How to Boost Website Ranking for Your Home Improvement Business

Looking to reach more customers with your business’s home improvement website? Check out these strategies to boost website ranking and get more business.

boostranking.jpg

As complex as Internet marketing seems, it always has one goal: You need to boost website ranking to boost sales leads and your bottom line.

But how does one do that? There are lots of websites out there for home improvement. How do you stand above the rest?

Here are 3 ways to boost website ranking the proper, organic way with no cheats.

1. Send Traffic to the Right Places

A lot of people will send too much of their traffic to their home page. This is the wrong move.

It asks the lead or customer to go hunting from there. The more clicks they have to make, the more chances you’re giving them to drop off and go someplace easier.

So, if you write a great blog about the , don’t send that traffic from the blog to your home page. Or even your backyard/ outdoor section. Send them to that specific gazebo’s product page.

That way, your browser knows they’re in the right place, and all they have to do is click “Buy.”

Google rewards sites that people interact with. Your SEO score increases, as more people click deeper into your site. At the same time, if you have a high bounce rate (visitors arriving and leaving right way), your SEO score will suffer.

So make it easy for people to get what they’ve come for in as few clicks as possible.

2. Be Mindful of Your Load Speed

People have no time to wait when shopping/browsing/ researching online these days, which is why Google factors into their ranking.

Now, Google hasn’t said exactly how much weight load speed is given in their equations. But here are some real numbers you should know.

  • 47% of consumers expect a web page to load or less

  • 40% will leave you if your site takes more than 3 seconds to load

If your site is taking to long to load, you may want to compress your images, uninstall any unnecessary plugins in your CMS, remove any bulky coding, or talk to your hosting provider.

3. Make Sure You’re Mobile

Global mobile traffic is now higher than desktop traffic. This means more people are likely looking for your products from a phone than their home computer.

In response to this, Google announced a shift . This means your mobile site has to be even better, and more optimized, than their desktop site.

Customers need to be able to find exactly what they’re looking for and buy it from your phone.

Or they will leave your site for a better mobile experience somewhere else. And that will increase your bounce rate.
